Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
I got married at what I consider to be the young age of 22, fulfilling a destiny that was clearly delineated for me throughout my religious, Jewish upbringing. Ten years, four moves, two countries and 3 kids later, I found myself in Florida, divorced and baffled about how I gotten here (both existentially and geographically) and where I was headed. I went back to school to get my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and Expressive Arts Therapy (more on what that is here) to realize my dream of pursuing a career that combined social contribution, creative expression and personal development.
With my degree in hand, along with an accumulation of experience and trainings in education, program development, music, creative movement, dance, yoga, meditation, and trauma-informed practice, I started thinking about how I was going to put it all together. During that time, the number of divorce people around me began to grow exponentially, and I became aware of how limited the resources are which openly address the various challenges that I, and the many others I talked to, experienced. And so, A (re)creative life was born.
The goal of a (re)creative life is to create a platform where people can find
support, guidance, inspiration and community.
SELF-AWARENESS TOWARDS WELLNESS
My therapeutic practice is built around helping my clients, who include adults, children and families, connect to their own inner resources, find healthy perceptions of themselves and discover transformation. I approach emotional healing with a creative mind and focus on self-loving ways to process emotional pain, mindful somatic attention, positive goal setting, innovative wellness practices, and inspiring tools for cognitive and emotional re-patterning.
I know that no single approach is the right one for every individual, so I utilize a variety of techniques, therapeutic approaches and a broad range of creative modalities, to facilitate solution-focused healing, trauma resolution, positive change and personal growth.
I also understand the realities and constraints of everyday life which might make it difficult or challenging to seek therapy (for yourself and/or children), so I offer online coaching, via phone or video chat.
I believe in every individual's innate capacity to heal, and seek a path towards discovery and transformation, lined with dignity, respect, trust, creativity and open-minded exploration.
